Lo-Star

The Yamaha Lo-Star was the second bike designed for Cobra by Mike Rinaldi. Right after the RoadStar was released, we got hold of the Yamaha folks to build a bike. Rinaldi had this idea about building a very long and very low bike but at first, Denny really did not know if he could pull it off using the stock frame. But in the span of just two days, he brought the bike back with the swing arm welded to the frame and said, "Let's go!" From then on, Denny was like a man possessed. Every few days he would send photos from his Palm Springs shop. The only say that Ken had at this point was how the gas tank was shaping up. At first it looked a lot like a shark nose, but Denny kept cutting it down more and more each day. Finally it turned out looking great. The massive Yamaha engine combined with Denny's custom touches all worked together on the Lo-Star.

    Emissions Notice

    The state of California considers aftermarket exhaust systems to be legal replacement parts for non-catalyst equipped motorcycles and/or if slip-on mufflers are installed downstream of the OEM catalysts.

    California does not allow the use of aftermarket systems that remove original equipment catalysts, (except for racing use only) unless the Air Resources Board has issued an Executive Order for that system.

    For California riders we offer Air Resources Board approved Fi2000 R ARB units. (ARB E.O. No. D-633-1). All other Fi2000 models are not legal for street use in California.
