Now we’re introducing the next generation of Neighbor Haters. The good news is the new GEN2 Neighbor Haters do not replace the existing line of slip-ons. Those products (the original Neighbor Haters, 909, 909 Upper Cuts and Dual Cuts) continue on, having carved out a beloved place in the marketplace. These GEN2 models are an extension of that popular line, and we added three new versions; each of which is a qualified manufacturer declared U.S. 50-State legal replacement part on all 2017-2022 Harley-Davidson FL Touring models. And they all have a customer friendly price point.
And for the 2017-2022 models can be used in all 50 states because they are:
QUALIFIED MANUFACTURER DECLARED U.S. 50-STATE LEGAL EMISSION REPLACEMENT PART ON ALL 2017-2022 HARLEY-DAVISDONS FL TOURING MODELS.
Our new GEN2 Neighbor Haters lineup includes:
• 4-inch round body with machined aluminum tips with rolled steel inner tips. For 1995 to 2016 Twin Cams and 2017 to current M8 models.
• 4½-inch round bodies with machined aluminum tips with rolled steel inner tips. For 1995 to 2016 Twin Cams and 2017 to current M8 models.
• New 4½-inch round body with upper-cut slash, rolled tip with a gloss black inner tip. For 1995 to 2016 Twin Cams and 2017 to current M8 models.
The first GEN2 uses a 4-inch round body available in chrome or black. Either version has a machined aluminum black outer tip with dual grooves. The chrome version uses a chromed inner tip and the black bodies use a gloss black inner tip. Those inner tips echo the original Neighbor Hater form creating a strong visual resemblance between the original and GEN2 options.
This muffler also features 2½-inch louvered cores in the M8 version and a 2¼-inch louvered core for the Twin Cam versions (the original NH used a 2½-inch perforated core). The Cobra team developed the new cores to deliver that same popular NH sound. The best part of the core design is that it produces good power on the stock head pipes, but should be able to create even more when the rider decides to build more power with either a larger engine or standard industry hop-up parts.
The 4½-inch round GEN2 Neighbor Haters have all the same features as the 4-inch, including the inner tips and the dual grooved outer tip. The key difference other than the larger diameter is that the 4½-inch muffler uses a 2¼-inch louvered core.
The final GEN2 Neighbor Haters is a 4½-inch Upper Cut currently available in black only. The angle of the cut lines up with the line of the bags and perfectly fills the opening in the extended bags. It features a rolled tip and has an additional inner tip finished in gloss black. It too uses the 2¼-inch louvered core.
The state of California considers aftermarket exhaust systems to be legal replacement parts for non-catalyst equipped motorcycles and/or if slip-on mufflers are installed downstream of the OEM catalysts.
California does not allow the use of aftermarket systems that remove original equipment catalysts, (except for racing use only) unless the Air Resources Board has issued an Executive Order for that system.
For California riders we offer Air Resources Board approved Fi2000 R ARB units. (ARB E.O. No. D-633-1). All other Fi2000 models are not legal for street use in California.
