Cobra keeps the hits coming. After introducing three all-new mufflers for the spring season, including the groundbreaking Center Pro, Cobra has now followed that up with its stylish Race Pro slip-on muffler set. These novel 4-inch muffler bodies feature similar advanced acoustical tuning technologies that were introduced in the Powr-Pro and Tri-Pro mufflers. The 4-inch round muffler front steps up right at the rear expanding to 4.5-inches diameter. Its thin line black tip has been machined out and is held in place with seven, stainless steel, 12-point bolts which lend aircraft quality and style to the product.

The matte black finish on the aluminum tip is matched with the satin black finish on the laser-cut steel strap that tightly encircles the muffler and has built-in mounting points. With its unique strap the Race Pro looks like a radical departure from the norm, when in fact, the Race Pro mounts the same way as nearly every slip-on muffler from Cobra. The strap clamps tightly around the muffler and bolts to the bike's hanger mounts located beneath the saddlebags. PEM® fasteners in the wrap make mounting a simple task of threading in a bolt from the upper bracket into the Cobra strap.

The mufflers come with 3-inch cores encased in proprietary Cobra sound tuning materials with specific acoustical dampening and thermal insulation properties. The basso profondo notes are made possible because of class-leading resonance absorption and prevention.

Said Tim McCool, Cobra Engineering president: "The materials we use along with the advances in our tooling and technology allow us to go so far beyond the bent tube and louvered metal cores of the industry standard just a few years ago. We can tune for ultimate performance and the perfect sound. It used to be you could get performance or sound. Now, with Cobra mufflers, you can have both. That's what keeps Cobra on the front line of muffler developments."

For example the frequency and location of the perforation patterns in the high-flo cores creates significant sound scattering in the mid frequencies, which helps to enhance the low frequency tones. The high-flo core itself is a massive 3-inches in diameter which gives the muffler an aggressive look without the objectionable sound levels.

Like all Cobra exhausts the Race Pro slip-on mufflers are made in the U.S. and come with a limited lifetime warranty that even covers discoloration. They use precision laser cut mounting brackets and stainless steel clamps to mount to the stock headpipes or to Cobra's PowrPort Dual headpipes.

    Emissions Notice

The state of California considers aftermarket exhaust systems to be legal replacement parts for non-catalyst equipped motorcycles and/or if slip-on mufflers are installed downstream of the OEM catalysts.

California does not allow the use of aftermarket systems that remove original equipment catalysts, (except for racing use only) unless the Air Resources Board has issued an Executive Order for that system.

For California riders we offer Air Resources Board approved Fi2000 R ARB units. (ARB E.O. No. D-633-1). All other Fi2000 models are not legal for street use in California.
